Chevrolet unveiled its 2015 Tahoe and Suburban models at the Orange County Auto Show during the weekend of October 3 - 6, 2013. The two best selling Chevrolet full size SUVs offer more functionality, more refinement, new safety features, and more technologies to customers. The last significant update to these two vehicles was in 2007, but 2015 sees the twelfth generation for the Suburban and the fifth for the Tahoe. Recent photos revealed all new exterior styling on both vehicles, but at the Auto Show gave customers their first access to the interior. Both Suburban and Tahoe get an interior and exterior redesign, and the main difference between the two models is length. The longer Suburban, as usual, features more room for passengers and cargo.

The overall exterior design is more modern and somewhat sporty for a traditionally family oriented vehicle. Doors and side glass are redesigned to fit into the bodyside to reduce wind noise. The rear end is more squared-off, which also results in more interior space. Under the hood is GM's revised EcoTec3 5.3 liter V-8 engine, which produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The featured cylinder deactivation is purported to deliver improved fuel economy, which is as yet unreleased. Two wheel drive Tahoes are rated at 8,500 pounds for towing, with four wheel drive models rated at 8,300. Two wheel drive Suburbans can tow 8,300 pounds and the four wheel drive models are rated at 8,000. The interiors feature a revised console, as well as a choice of multimedia systems. Both SUVs have more legroom and more useful folding third row seating. Customers who have held on to their older Tahoes or Suburbans might finally be willing to update once they see all the new features in store for 2015. The new models will go on sale early next year.
