Recent figures show that many auto customers are switching from other brands to Buick these days. Roger McCormack, marketing director for Buick and GMC, was quoted as saying that a remarkable 44 percent of people who buy a Buick are trading in cars manufactured by other companies. As of September, Buick had delivered 157,503 new vehicles. The best sellers for Buick are the Enclave CUV, at 46,384, the LaCrosse sedan at 38,345, the Verano compact sedan with 36,568 units, and the new Encore compact CUV coming in at 22,930 units sold. These sales are contributing to what could very well be Buick's fourth straight year of growth, and the trend seems to be making Buick's marketing team confident that the company will be able to bring in new customers from other mainstream and luxury markets.

The Buick Verano has been responsible for the highest number of customer conversions, as 52 percent of Verano buyers are new to the brand. Customers looking for a compact sedan with luxury qualities have a solid choice in the Verano. Reviewers have been impressed with the precise steering, smooth powertrain, and athletic handling of the Verano. New for 2014 are forward-collision and lane-departure warning systems, and heated from seats are now standard on all trim packages except for the base model. The 2014 Verano is available at Buick dealers in four trim levels: base, Convenience Group, Leather Group, and Premium. Base power for the Verano is a 2.4 liter four cylinder engine which provides 180 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque. A turbocharged, 2.0 liter four cylinder engine, generating 250 horsepower is available on the Premium package only.
